Description Gerard Ryan 2014-07-08 19:05:15 UTC
Hi,

The new eclipse-webtools package obsoletes (and provides) this package in rawhide, so I believe this should be retired.

If you have any outstanding bugs for this package, feel free to change them to eclipse-webtools component if they're still relevant.

If any of current maintainers of this package are interested in helping with maintenance of eclipse-webtools, just apply in pkgdb.

Thanks,
Gerard.

I tried to retire this package but had a few problems with my fedpkg client and now it seems I cannot finish the retire process. Namely orphaning the package on pkgdb. Perhaps someone who is a proven packager is needed to do this now.

I run
pkgdb-cli orphan --retire eclipse-wtp-common f21

and I get:

"You are not allowed to chagne the point of contact."

Comment 2 Mat Booth 2014-07-24 08:27:37 UTC
I am a provenpackager, but I cannot retire this package, I get this output from "fedpkg retire":

dead.package found, package probably already retired - will not remove files from git or overwrite existing dead.package file
Everything up-to-date
Please enter FAS password for user mbooth:
Could not retire package: You are not allowed to retire this package.

Comment 3 Alexander Kurtakov 2014-07-24 08:29:51 UTC
Maybe only the point of contact can retire it?

I'll try to contact arobinso

fedpkg does two things, remove all files and add the dead.package file, then run pkgdb-cli to retire. It sounds like it might be failing at the first step for you, because of it getting that far for Sami.

Can you try:

pkgdb-cli orphan --retire eclipse-wtp-common f21

and

pkgdb-cli orphan --retire eclipse-wtp-common master

...or it could be what Alexander said, maybe only POC can retire it.

Thanks a lot
Gerard.

When I try to retire, it lets me orphan but not retire.

pkgdb-cli orphan --retire eclipse-wtp-common f21
FAS pass
user: arobinso changed point of contact of package: eclipse-wtp-common from: arobinso to: orphan on branch: f21
You are not allowed to retire the package: eclipse-wtp-common on branch f21.

I've retired this now.

Can you confirm it looks as you expect?

Thanks a lot for looking into it Kevin.

It looks ok on F21, now we need to get it retired on master also. Andrew, would you be able to try that again please? Thanks!

Hi Andrew,

Have you had a chance to try to retire this? I'll send you an email also, in case your bugzilla notifications are going to /dev/null

Thanks,
Gerard.

This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.

Comment 12 Gerard Ryan 2014-09-14 21:15:53 UTC
This has now been retired. Thanks a lot Andrew (& everyone else involved in this)!
