Output of lshw

Description of problem:

I'M running thunderbird-24.6.0-1.fc20.x86_64. Sometimes (rather often,
but not always) having problems with threads in thunderbird mail list subwindow: After opening a thread, all opened sublines are unvisible, until I move the mouse pointer over them (without click): then they will appear.

This happens both with ati and nvidia video cards.

See thread https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/users/2014-July/451632.html

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
 For example kernel-3.15.4-200.fc20.x86_64

How reproducible:
Not always, but rather often

Steps to Reproduce:
1.see description
2.
3.

Actual results:
see description

Expected results:
Threads are immediately visible

Additional info:
1. It seems I could get rid by this effect, for example on a box with an nvidia gforce 210, by installing xorg-x11-drv-modesetting, putting the four lines

Section "Device"
Identifier "video0"
Driver "modesetting"
EndSection

into /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-modesetting.conf und restarting X. I did not test if this way is helpful for ati cards!

2. The effect happens too on systems for example with ati radeon SAPPHIRE HD 5450

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 20 kernel bugs.

Fedora 20 has now been rebased to 3.17.2-200.fc20. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 21, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 21.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

I'm running indeed F21 and actually thunderbird-31.2.0-1.fc21.x86_64, and I see no more the effect I described above. So ist seems it's resolved.

From my point of view, BZ 1117817 may be closed.

Kind regards

Joachim Backes
