I am having the same problem with my HP Pavilion dv6 (Radeon HD 6520G)

I would conclude that the problem lies within the radeon driver as using nomodeset on the kernel command line allows gdm to start without error. Obviously this breaks plymouth.

This isn't necessary with kernel 3.14.9

Today i`m reinstall my Fedora with EFI booting. After installing i`m update system. And have same problem again with kernel-3.15.3 (and 3.15.4 from testing repo). Manual installation of packet kernel-3.14.9 (http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=540356) again solved the problem.

I have x86_64 Fedora with standart ATI drivers.

I have updated through the whole 3.15 series and found them all to be affected by this. I updated to 3.17 on rawhide and same result.

Confirm this bug in 3.16 kernel. I don`t understand what they change in kernel

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 20 kernel bugs.

Fedora 20 has now been rebased to 3.17.2-200.fc20. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 21, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 21.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Ok, now i installed Fedora 20 without full disk encryption like before. All work fine - system booting without troubles on kernel-3.17.2-200.fc20.
