Description Ralf Spenneberg 2003-12-15 20:37:44 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 Galeon/1.2.7 (X11; Linux i686; U;) Gecko/20030131

Description of problem:
Samba is domain member server in NT 4 domain
admin users ='@DOM+Domain Admins'

User DOM+joe is member of DOM+Domain Admins.

Using Server Manager for WinNT the User DOM+Joe has full access to a
share.

When accessing the share the user is denied access due to a wrong
security descriptor.
Removing the user from the DOM+Domain Admins group or removing the
admin users directive allows the user to access the share.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
samba-3.0.0-14.3E

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Join the Domain
2. Create a share
3. Add the admin users directive to the samba configuration
4. Allow access to the share via the Server Manager for WinNT
5. Access the share

Actual Results: Access is denied

Expected Results: Access is allowed

Additional info:

Volker Lendecke already acknowledged the bug. I already entered a bug
report on the samba bugzilla site:

Comment 1 Jay Fenlason 2004-01-17 05:00:19 UTC
I've put RPMs of samba-3.0.2rc1 on
http://people.redhat.com/fenlason/.samba . Can you try them and see if
they resolve your problem. Note that these are un-qa'd packages of a
release that is not intended for production use. If they solve your
problem, I will attempt to get samba-3.0.2 included in the next quarterly
update of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.
