Description bpk678 2014-08-09 15:12:12 UTC
Description of problem: when using the Find button in Vinagre, DNS is queried for advertised nodes. The query is for a PTR record when it should be a SRV record

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.10.2

How reproducible: very

Steps to Reproduce:
1. configure SRV record in DNS for "0 100 5900 host.domain.tld."
2. start packet capture
3. open vinagre, click Connect, select SPICE, click Find, click Domain, select correct domain
4. error is produced "Browsing for service type _spice._tcp.domain.tld failed: Not found"
5. review packet capture

Actual results:
PTR record is requested, not SRV record

Expected results:
SRV Record should be found and SPICE nodes identified/listed in vingre for selection.

Vinagre uses Avahi for service discovery, and does not explicitly request SRV or PTR records. If this is a bug in Avahi, please report it in the Avahi bugtracker:
