Description Germano Massullo 2014-08-22 13:16:35 UTC
Created attachment 929586 [details]
affected document

Description of problem:
The attached document is rendered with some wrong symbols:
- "less or equal" symbols is rendered as " (page 6, ex. 2)
- "not equal" symbol is rendered as an arrow up symbol (page 6)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
poppler-0.24.3-3.fc20.x86_64

Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2014-08-22 13:36:48 UTC
It renders ok for me using both okular and evince,

evince-3.10.3-1.fc20.i686
okular-4.13.3-1.fc20.i686
poppler-0.24.3-3.fc20.i686
poppler-data-0.4.7-1.fc20.noarch

In particular, you may want to consider testing,
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2014-9462/poppler-data-0.4.7-1.fc20

If this helps for you (or not).

The update did not solve the problem.

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2014-08-23 16:22:52 UTC
OK, may somehow be arch-specific, my x86_64 laptop demonstrates the problem as described. I'm seeing " and up-arrow characters on page 6

Comment 4 Marek Kašík 2014-08-25 11:49:45 UTC
Hi Germano,

what does "fc-match symbol" returns? It can be a wrong font. I can reproduce the issue if I install google-croscore-symbolneu-fonts.

Regards

Marek

Comment 5 Rex Dieter 2014-08-25 16:05:05 UTC
Indeed, on system that is bad:

$ fc-match symbol
SymbolNeu.ttf: "Symbol Neu" "Regular"

On system good:

$ fc-match symbol
s050000l.pfb: Standard Symbols L" "Regular"

Comment 6 Germano Massullo 2014-08-28 08:02:48 UTC
I can no longer reproduce the bug. Perhaps an update solved the problem.

$ fc-match symbol
s050000l.pfb: "Standard Symbols L" "Regular"

Comment 7 Marek Kašík 2014-08-28 13:26:08 UTC
I suppose that the font is the google-croscore-symbolneu-fonts then. I'm closing this as a duplicate of the bug #1037882.

Regards

Marek
