Description of problem:

gss-proxy provides ticket management and privilege separation, eliminating the need for the smart proxy to obtain and manage its own Kerberos credentials cache

Pure GSSAPI calls will be needed instead of the current Kerberos calls but this should result in less code overall within the smart proxy.

You will likely need gss-proxy 0.3.1 or higher.
