Description of problem: Please build vconfig for EPEL7. This bug has been reported aginst Fedora rawhide, because there is no vconfig component for EPEL. Thank you.
Why do you need to use vconfig? Why don't you use ip(8) instead? See <https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/html/Networking_Guide/sec-Configure_802_1Q_VLAN_Tagging_Using_the_Command_Line.html#sec-Configure_802_1Q_VLAN_Tagging_ip_Commands> for example.
I am just accustomed to vconfig, but looks like it's possible to use ip command too. Leaving at your opinion, if you build vconfig too or only close this bug. Can I expect vconfig removal in future Fedora releases too?
I keep vconfig in Fedora only for compatibility reasons. The tool is officially abandoned by upstream at it can happen it will be removed from Fedora. However I do not plan to do it now or soon. I will build vconfig into EPEL7 to provide users some time for the transition. However I recommend everybody to use ip tool if possible.
