screens: validation of too long VM names (3.4 vs 3.5) none

Description Pavel Novotny 2014-09-12 13:15:01 UTC
Created attachment 936956 [details]
screens: validation of too long VM names (3.4 vs 3.5)

Description of problem:
Form validators in VM dialog don't allow to submit it in case some of the entered values are wrong.
This however doesn't apply for too long names of Windows VM (more than 15 characters).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rhevm-3.5.0-0.11.beta.el6ev.noarch (vt3).

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open New VM dialog and set:
   - Operating System: Windows 7 x64 (or any other Windows version)
   - Name: windows-7-123456 (which has 16 characters)
2. -> OK
3.

Actual results:
VM dialog is submitted and then following error dialog is displayed:

"Operation Canceled

Error while executing action:

windows-7-123456:

Cannot add VM. The given name is too long.
"
See attached screenshot.

Expected results:
In VM dialog, the VM Name input box should get red border with the error message as its tooltip - "Field content must not exceed 15 characters".
Also the dialog must not be submitted in such case.

See attached screenshot from RHEVM 3.4, where the behaviour is correct.
