Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Toni Willberg 2014-09-17 07:38:03 UTC
Description of problem:
Parts of the web UI (I guess the Katello UI) may become unresponsive while some parts of the UI still works.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
 katello-1.5.0-30.el6sat.noarch

How reproducible:
 happened many times

Steps to Reproduce:
Not sure how to reproduce this always.
I cannot currently sync the content, probably related to the same issue.

Actual results:
 a) Content > Sync Status
 b) Administer > About

Both cause the browser to wait for HTTP response, nothing happens for at least 60 seconds.

 Eventually (a) gives this error:
"We're sorry, but something went wrong.
We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly."

Later (b) actually printed the About screen, took perhaps 3 minutes.

Expected results:
Some HTTP response so the browser would render something, even a message saying "please wait"

Could I upload some logfiles to provide more info?

Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

Per 6.3 planning, moving out non acked bugs to the backlog

Comment 7 Walden Raines 2016-12-19 21:42:02 UTC
Closing this as it's over two years old and most of the UI has changed since then such that I can not reproduce this.

Please reopen if you can still reproduce this with additional steps to reproduce.
