Reproduced on a less saturated hypervisor. real 0m17.793s user 0m16.503s sys 0m1.247s Still seems a bit excessive imo.

VERIFIED on sat 6.2.0 Beta (GA11) -the average real time is ~7seconds, which is not really <5s, but the time has improved significantly. real 0m7.050s user 0m5.207s sys 0m1.603s real 0m6.992s user 0m5.165s sys 0m1.593s real 0m7.022s user 0m5.150s sys 0m1.682s -note, tested with satellite-installer --help, since katello-installer has been branded.
