Description of problem: When a kernel is pushed as an updated and is installed by a user, till Fedora 20, the beheviour was to choose the newest kernel in the boot menu by default, that is displayed on the top of the menu. But in Fedora 21 Alpha, even though the newest kernel is shown at the top, the oldest kernel is selected by default on every boot. Its a major annoyance to select it everytime. A grub customization can be done for sure, but it should be the default setting for improved out of the box experience. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Updating to a new kernel produces this issue. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Wait for a new kernel to be available in Updates repo. 2. Update to the new kernel using Yum or Gnome Software. 3. Reboot system to see the issue, Actual results: The default selected entry in the boot menu is the older kernel down in the list, not the newer one on the top of the list. Expected results: The newest installed kernel entry should be selected by default. Additional info:
Is there any update on this? I don't see much update on this issue. If I can help any further please let me know. Thanks.
Resolved in final version of Fedora 21. Please close this bug.
