Created attachment 942709 [details]
screenshot of artefacts

Description of problem:
weired lines and artefacts when in wayland session.

These artefacts are not visible when in a x11 standard session.

How reproducible:
move the mouse over the videos in the getting startet section of gnome-help

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install gnome-session-wayland-session
2. start gnome-help
3. select the getting startet tutorial
4. move the mouse over the videos
5. observe the artefacts (if not reproducible see screenshot)

Using 'GDK_BACKEND=wayland gnome-help' or 'GDK_BACKEND=x11 gnome-help' does not change anything

Actual results:

lines covering parts of the content when mouseover is activated

Expected results:

smooth graphics no flickering lines.

I just realized that in the evolution calendar view a similar problem exists might the problem be somewhere in some html renderer or something like that?

Comment 2 Olivier Fourdan 2015-02-06 18:02:30 UTC
Hi, I cannot reproduce with Fedora 21 current, neither with wayland nor x11 backend.

Tried with both "nouveau" and "intel drivers. Is it still reproducible with an up-to-date Fedora 21?

Comment 3 Dietrich 2015-02-09 11:25:55 UTC
It is still reproducible for me!

I can provide more info on this if necessary. Any Hints on what could be needed?

Ok that is only half true!

I just retried 'GDK_BACKEND=wayland gnome-help' and could not find any artefacts but with the x11 backend they are still there!

On which hardware, using which x11 and Mesa drivers do you see this?

Does the same occur with a "regular" GNOME x11 session?

Comment 6 Fedora End Of Life 2015-11-04 13:43:30 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 21 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 21. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '21'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 21 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 7 Fedora End Of Life 2015-12-02 04:04:03 UTC
Fedora 21 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-12-01. Fedora 21 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 8 Dietrich 2015-12-02 10:35:28 UTC
As the original reporter of this Bug I can attest, that the problem does not show up in Fedora 23!
