Hover over the various information fields in the General Tab of a Host 2. All the information fields have tool tips. They must be removed. Only when providing additional information should the tool tip be provided or in the case that the information provided is too long to be displayed. We actually added them on purpose since they show the complete data in case the length of it is too long and trimmed by the table they are shown in, I really don't see how it is a bug
you should show it in case it long, but not in case it is "1" for example. it doesn't look good at all.

I agree with the reporter, but this is a cross-GUI issue. moving to 'ux.
after a lot of tool-tip-related changes (too many to detail here) and 'General' sub-tab layout changes (https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/37527/), the behavior is a bit different now - there are no tool-tips *at all*, even when the value is cropped -> changing BZ summary accordingly.

I believe I discussed this issue with Greg once, not sure what were the conclusions though: see attachment 1035978 [details]: there are no tool-tips on cropped values in the General sub-tab. there is also no ellipsis ("...") for these values, which is OK, since we want to maintain the ability to select this values using the mouse in order to copy/paste them, for example. question is if we can somehow make sure that there are tool-tips on these values if they are not fully displayed (without showing an ellipsis suffix for them). @Greg - any thoughts? can we put tool-tips on cropped values (without putting an ellipsis, in order to maintain mouse-selection behavior)?

QA: - This was fixed by wrapping the labels and values in the General sub-tab; i.e. long labels/values will simply render over 2 lines (or more). - This is a general BZ. ** DO NOT REOPEN ** this BZ unless the bug is not fixed *in general*. *Specific* issues should be reported in separate, specific BZs. Thanks.
