Can you describe what you were doing please.
I do not know what caused the bug. If I knew it would write immediately. After upgrading to version PackageKit-1.0.1-0.1.20141015.fc21.x86_64 bug no longer occurs.
Another user experienced a similar problem: From Firefox browse to RPMFusion or Adobe and try to install repositories RPMs from these sites. PackageKit is launched, repositories are installed, but at the end PackageKit says that it failed to install RPMs and crashes. reporter: libreport-2.3.0 backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: /usr/libexec/packagekitd crash_function: hif_source_get_id executable: /usr/libexec/packagekitd kernel: 3.17.2-300.fc21.x86_64 package: PackageKit-1.0.1-0.1.20141015.fc21 reason: packagekitd killed by SIGSEGV runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 0
This happened to me when I was removing a repository in Apper and then PackageKit crashed. PackageKit-1.0.3-1.fc21.x86_64
I have been testing PackageKit-1.0.3-4.fc21 and I cannot reproduce the crash I was seeing now.
I think this fixes the bug: https://github.com/hughsie/libhif/commit/7e96312d863440493ae2d4a8644586321bdf41a1

Good day all, I think this issue is gone, have not seen it since the first day I had it. Thanks, Devon
I have three KDE desktop installs I performed with the Fedora 21 Server DVD when released, and all three are not being updated by PackageKit. If I go into Apper, Apper shows it has checked for updates and none are available. If I use yum, it pulls in many updates. Is this bug the cause of this issue for me, or do I need to open a new bug?
that's bug #1188207 , and please consider testing: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2015-7245/apper-0.9.1-10.fc21
