Description of problem: When we try to synchronize rhel-x86_64-server-ha-7 or rhel-x86_64-server-rs-7, we get this message. 03:10:44 Downloading kickstartable trees metadata 03:10:44 Retrieving / parsing kickstart data: rhel-x86_64-server-rs-7 (NONE RELEVANT) In /var/satellite/rhn/kickstart/ks-rhel-x86_64-server-7-7.0/ we do not have directories HighAvailability or ResilientStorage there. The problems is, that RHEL7 has a little different directory structure. These child channels are stored in "addons" subdirectory. As we can see http://download.devel.redhat.com/released/RHEL-7/7.0/Server/x86_64/os/addons/ The result is, HighAvailability or ResilientStorage are not accessible as the kickstart profile repositories. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): All Satellites and Spacewalks. How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Synchronize RHEL7 channels > satellite-sync -c rhel-x86_64-server-7 -c rhn-tools-rhel-x86_64-server-7 --no-errata --no-packages --no-rpms > satellite-sync -c rhel-x86_64-server-ha-7 -c rhel-x86_64-server-rs-7 2. We should see HighAvailability and ResilientStorage directories. > ll /var/satellite/rhn/kickstart/ks-rhel-x86_64-server-7-7.0/addons/ 3. We can try to create a new RHEL7 kickstart profile and check it. (kickstart profile > "Kickstart Details" > "Operating System") There, we should see HighAvailability & ResilientStorage in the "Repository" block (bottom of the page). Actual results: We do not see "Repository" and we can see rhel-x86_64-server-ha-7 & rhel-x86_64-server-rs-7 only as a child channels. Expected results: We can see HighAvailability & ResilientStorage in the "Repository" block on the page (/rhn/kickstart/KickstartSoftwareEdit.do?ksid=1) Additional info:
As you may already be aware, Red Hat is transitioning from the Red Hat Network (RHN) hosted interface to the Red Hat Subscription Management (RHSM) interface in July 2017. Red Hat has invested in and seen success from RHN for many years, and used that experience to build more robust technologies like RHSM. If you have not yet migrated your RHN systems to RHSM or you are a Red Hat Satellite customer, please review the information from. https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-subscription-management#migration. Since we are shutting down RHN, no further actions will be taken with this bug or enhancement request. You can find additional information at RHSM product page (https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-subscription-management).
