Description Adam Williamson 2014-10-17 21:24:22 UTC
This is a downstream report of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=738714 , for blocker tracking purposes. See the full report upstream, but basically, if you configure an Online Account (e.g. ownCloud) during g-i-s user creation, the user's keyring will never be usable. This prevents quite a lot of use of the system, and pops up a confusing error right after g-i-s.

This is a conditional violation of Final criterion "Saving passwords to and retrieving passwords from the default keyring must work for all release-blocking desktops." - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_21_Final_Release_Criteria#Desktop_keyring - in the case where the user configures an online account during g-i-s, so proposing as a Final blocker. Also proposing as a Beta freeze exception since it's not that hard to hit, can't be fixed with an update, and gives you a pretty bad experience if you hit it.

Discussed in 2014-10-20 Blocker Review meeting [1]. Accepted as a freeze exception. This bug really affects the usability of a system and getting a fix in for beta would help facilitate testing.

Comment 4 Adam Williamson 2014-10-30 18:05:38 UTC
This was not put in Beta in the end (it was judged too dangerous to pull in a non-blocker fix for a late RC build), so I'll make sure it's in commonbugs. It'll go stable as soon as we un-freeze from Beta and will be in Final.
