Description of problem:

Recent kernels in FC20 (kernel-3.16.6-200.fc20.x86_64)

How reproducible: Always


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plugin DVICO DVB-T USB
2. Can no longer tune DVB-T TV
3.

Actual results:
Can't tune DVB-T

Expected results:
Cab tune aand watch DVB-T

Additional info:
If I replace the kernel with an older version e.g.kernel-3.9.5-301.fc19.x86_64
then tuning and watching DVB-T card OK.

I can confirm that the patch below allows the DVICO USB DVB-T dongle to tune DVB broadcasts OK.  I have recompiled and istalled a recent fedora kernel with a patch based on the documented change.

This issue is also seen in RHEL7.

Thanks for the pointer.  That went into the upstream 3.17 kernel as commit eb9da073bd002f2968c84129a5c49625911a3199.  We'll look at backporting it soon.

You will need to file a bug against the RHEL product if you want to see it fixed there.  The Fedora kernel maintainers do not work on RHEL.

Package kernel-3.16.7-200.fc20:
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 20 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing kernel-3.16.7-200.fc20'
as soon as you are able to, then reboot.

I can confirm that the kernel-3.16.7-200.fc20 kernel from updates-testing allows tuning of the DVICO USB DVB-T tuner.

kernel-3.16.7-200.fc20 has been pushed to the Fedora 20 stable repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
