Seems like CentOS and Scientific Linux haven't gotten to 6.6 yet... Did they rename the package to mpich and mpich-devel?
Yes. $ rpm -q --obsoletes -p mpich-3.1-4.el6.x86_64.rpm mpich2 < 1.2.2 mpich-libs < 1.1.1 mpich-mpd < 1.4.1 $ rpm -q --obsoletes -p mpich-devel-3.1-4.el6.x86_64.rpm mpich2-devel < 1.2.2 Hope this info helps to resolve the issue.

Yeah so Scientific Linux has 6.6 in its rolling repository now. I'm still waiting on scalapack to be built for the new mpich.
package: ga-openmpi-5.3b-12.el6.x86_64 from epel unresolved deps: libscalapack.so.1()(64bit) libmpiblacsF77init.so.1()(64bit) libmpiblacsCinit.so.1()(64bit) libmpiblacs.so.1()(64bit) New scalapack build is on testing, including blacs as sub-package.
I've submitted a buildroot override for scalapack-2.0.2-5.el6.1, so it should be in the buildroots shortly: koji wait-repo dist-6E-epel-build --build=scalapack-2.0.2-5.el6.1
