Description Stephen Herr 2014-10-30 12:53:50 UTC
Description of problem:
To fix bug 980319 we have to configure the HTTP Proxy settings before we select the Proxy version to activate. This means we need minor updates to the Proxy 5.7 Install guide so that the order of steps will match the order of the installer.

See: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Satellite/5.6/html/Proxy_Installation_Guide/sect-Red_Hat_Satellite-Proxy_Installation_Guide-Installing_Red_Hat_Proxy-Red_Hat_Proxy_Server_Installation_Process.html

Actual results:
The old order of installation prompts looks like:
----------
RHN Parent [your.satellite.org]: your.satellite.org
CA Chain [/usr/share/rhn/RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT]: /usr/share/rhn/RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT
Proxy version to activate [5.6]:
Traceback email [your]: your
Use SSL [1]: 1
HTTP Proxy []:
----------

Expected results:
The updated order looks like:
----------
Using RHN parent (from /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date): sherr-satellite56.usersys.redhat.com
Using CA Chain (from /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date): /usr/share/rhn/RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT.sat
HTTP Proxy []:
Proxy version to activate [5.7]:
Traceback email [your]: your
Use SSL [1]: 1
----------

Note that "HTTP Proxy" has moved up above "Proxy version to activate". Please update the doc accordingly.

Thanks Stephen. I should be able to look at this tomorrow.

I've set this to "high" because we've had customer complaints in the past about "the doc says do 1, 2, 3 but you can't do 3 until 4 is done". I'll get onto this pretty quickly.

Comment 4 Dan Macpherson 2015-09-16 01:58:12 UTC
This fix has been released for Satellite 5.7. No further feedback since 2014. Closing bug.
