Content View Versions page takes a long time to list
Last modified: 2017-02-23 15:49:41 EST
Description of problem: Having a lot of content view versions of a single content view (~55), each with ~4 repositories totaly 25,000 packages and 50 puppet modules causes the content view versions list to take 2-3 minutes to load Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 6.0.4 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load up a content view with 55 versions of the amount of data mentioned above 2. Navigate to Content Views > MyView and wait for the versions list to show Actual results: takes 2 -3 minutes Expected results: takes ~10 seconds or less Additional info:
Reproduced by adding ~100 puppet modules to a content view and published ~30 times.
Created redmine issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/8491 from this bug
Moving to POST since upstream bug http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/8491 has been closed ------------- Justin Sherrill Applied in changeset commit:katello|1ced1c519b6dee549634d81536a6558b66dd88f7.
Added 8000 packages and 18 puppet-modules to a Content-View and published this content-view 33 times. The page now opens up in ~15 secs. VERIFIED With Sat6.0.8 build.
This bug is not 100% fixed > Expected results: > takes ~10 seconds or less However, the results are significantly better than the 2-3 minute wait described in the bug. I double-checked kbidarka's results and did some additional tests of my own. Here's the results: * ~18 seconds: Content view with 8090 packages and 33 versions. Installed on RHEL 6.6 * ~30-45 seconds: Content view with 5639 packages (250 errata) and 40 versions. Installed on RHEL 7.0. Some of those differences in timing may arise from differences in underlying hardware, too. Related to: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1192162
