This has been fixed by a more recent glib. I've got glib2-2.3.5-1 out of the development tree, which fixed it for me.
This looks like it was an Evolution bug; I can't reproduce this in the latest build of Evolution (1.5.7), so I'm going to mark this as WORKSFORME
