Also affects Fedora >= 20 (at least). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): autoconf-2.69-14.fc20 +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1162225 +++ Description of problem: config.guess and config.sub man pages are empty. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): autoconf-2.69-11.el7 Steps to Reproduce: $ man config.guess Actual results: $ zcat /usr/share/man/man1/config.guess.1.gz .ab help2man is required to generate this page Expected results: autoconf ships correct man pages. Additional info: From the above message it seems the help2man tool is missing during installation. Installing it and rebuilding the package causes correct man pages being generated. Interestingly, this issue is not present on el6 despite help2man not appearing among the build requirements.
Thanks for the report. The problem was reported upstream: http://www.mail-archive.com/autoconf-patches@gnu.org/msg06277.html Worked around by installing help2man package (for now).
