Description Frank Ch. Eigler 2014-11-12 19:42:50 UTC
Some useful extensions for the papi pmda to track:
- exposure of non-PRESET counters
- exposure of uncore counters
- exposure of numa-related counters
- ability to turn on/off multiplexing

Comment 1 Frank Ch. Eigler 2014-11-13 18:51:23 UTC
also:
- pmdacache based assignment of counter-name -> pmids
- dynamic papi_desc() rather than metrictab[]

Comment 2 Lukas Berk 2014-12-09 16:29:29 UTC
Also worth considering adding a papi.available.version metric, detailing the major and minor papi version

Comment 3 Frank Ch. Eigler 2014-12-12 19:13:48 UTC
Another possibility: adding a %ghost .NeedInstall file to the
pcp-pmda-papi subrpm, so that the pmda is activated to pmcd.

Comment 4 Jaroslav Reznik 2015-03-03 16:29:58 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 22 development cycle.
Changing version to '22'.

More information and reason for this action is here:

Comment 5 Fedora End Of Life 2016-07-19 12:23:58 UTC
Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 6 Nathan Scott 2019-03-05 04:09:08 UTC
The PAPI PMDA seems to have no users and is being phased out upstream in favour off the perfevent PMDA. We do not plan any further development efforts on it in Fedora either.
