Description of problem: The Arduino IDE version available in Fedora is quite old. It also lacks support for Arduino Yún or Due. Upstream latest stable version is 1.0.6, but there is the latest 1.5.8 Beta. [1] I would like to ask you to update the package to the latest Beta. If you don't have time for it I'm willing to help and offer co-maintainership. [1] http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
I was waiting for a non-beta release before updating this in Fedora. It appears that this will happen quite soon, now (https://groups.google.com/a/arduino.cc/d/msg/developers/rlbxoXmV9Q8/9RjasblBMUU), so it's probably time to make a start in Rawhide. I don't really use Arduino myself any more, so a co-maintainer would certainly be welcome. I've granted you access.
Thank you. I tried to rebase the package during the weekend, but it was not that easy. It'll take more time, however I use Arduino IDE, to have to do it if I want new version :)
Perhaps at least update to 1.0.6 for the moment?
Can you at least push beta package in resting repo? We need new 1.5.x version also for Intel Edison board. Arduino 1.x is realy, really, really old IDE :)
Hi. Unfortunately so far I had no spare time to update Arduino IDE in Fedora. Due to Fedora Packaging Guidelines and the way how Arduino IDE is distributed it is not that trivial. So if you have spare time, any help is welcomed ;)
