I am using a Sound Blaster 64 card and always in the final
of the configuration of the card with the sndconfig I get a
error at the modprobe program after the sndconfig sound
test.

My card settings are IO port 0x220, irq 5, 8-bit dma 1, 16
bit dma 5

try upgrading to the latest kernel errata.
