Description of problem: The -common subpackage owns the directories and almost the whole path containing the libc.mo files. /usr/share/locale /usr/share/locale/be /usr/share/locale/be/LC_MESSAGES /usr/share/locale/be/LC_MESSAGES/libc.mo /usr/share/locale/bg /usr/share/locale/bg/LC_MESSAGES /usr/share/locale/bg/LC_MESSAGES/libc.mo /usr/share/locale/ca /usr/share/locale/ca/LC_MESSAGES /usr/share/locale/ca/LC_MESSAGES/libc.mo /usr/share/locale/cs /usr/share/locale/cs/LC_MESSAGES /usr/share/locale/cs/LC_MESSAGES/libc.mo /usr/share/locale/da /usr/share/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES /usr/share/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/libc.mo /usr/share/locale/de /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/libc.mo [truncated] Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.20-5.fc21 All these path components are already owned by the "filesystem" package. Just drop the creation of all the directories and "Requires: filesystem", that's all. Moreover, to install the mo files correctly, you need to use the %find_lang macro. Have a look at our packaging guidelines how to use it: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Guidelines#Handling_Locale_Files
I've pushed a fix to rawhide. Please test 2.20.90-12 when it is done. I've verified that it does not brick my x86_64 vm and the directories are no longer owned by glibc.
Ok, I haven't tested the package itself, but spec file and file list with "rpm -qpl" are OK. What do you think, is it safe to backport this change to f21?
I don't mind doing it after GA.
Any news about applying the fix to the f21 package...?
