Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 116750
RFE: Include hotplug scripts for sbp2 IEEE1394 (FireWire) devices
Last modified: 2014-03-16 22:42:43 EDT
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4.1)
Description of problem:
I would like to have support for my FireWire DVD burner via hotplug.
I also think that it would be a good idea to include the
rescan-scsi-bus.sh script, both for FireWire products as well as
hotplug SCSI drives.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attach a Sony FireWire DVD burner
Actual Results: It is not accessible until the rescan-scsi-bus.sh
script is run and then kudzu can find it (I don't think kudzu is
strictly necessary with FC2).
I am not certain that rescan-scsi-bus.sh should be included in
hotplug, but I think that it should be included somewhere for
instances such as this.

This creates the sbp2 and rescan-scsi-bus.sh files in /etc/hotplug/ieee1394
