RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Jonathon Jongsma 2014-11-26 16:38:29 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1167829 +++

Description of problem:
It's possible to transfer just a single file at a time using drag and drop. Would be great if this would work also for larger selections.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
spice-gtk3-0.22-2

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select multiple files on client
2. Drag and drop them into guest

Actual results:
Fails silently

Expected results:
Files get transferred

to be a proper fix, the vdagent also needs a patch so that it doesn't open a separate file manager window for each file transferred. That patch is here: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/spice/linux/vd_agent/commit/?id=4e9b291773ebcd27b9eed266c5bc113cddbe9214

Note that the vdagent patch mentioned above is for the linux vdagent. The Windows vdagent hasn't been patched yet.

Windows vdagent doesn't need a patch.
We deal differently with copy to Linux and to Windows. In the latter, we copy the files to the Desktop and do not open the folder for the client. So, we are safe about this.

For Linux, as pointed by Jonathon, we would need this patch for the agent:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/spice/linux/vd_agent/commit/?id=4e9b291773ebcd27b9eed266c5bc113cddbe9214

Comment 3 Jonathon Jongsma 2014-11-26 16:51:51 UTC
See Bug 1168324 for the linux vdagent bug. Since the windows vdagent doesn't need any changes, I'm closing this one.
