Cloned from launchpad blueprint https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ceilometer/+spec/merge-compute-central-agents. Description: Merge the code of the compute and central agents back, so they would differ only in the pipeline (like agent running on the compute nodes collect only compute meters, on cloud controller - any other set of meters). Specification URL (additional information): None
Hi Eoghan, Some questions for you regarding this RFE: . openstack-ceilometer-compute and openstack-ceilometer-central would be replaced by one service/package/daemon e.g: openstack-ceilometer-polling ? . With 'allinone' setup - 1 instance of 'polling' agent is installed and has --polling-namespace set to 'central compute' ? . With 'multinode' setup - 1 instance of 'polling' agent is installed at controller node (--polling-namespace central) - 1 instance of 'polling' agent is installed at compute node (--polling-namespace compute) ? . --pollster-list interaction with pipeline.yaml? ( looks like pipeline depends on the data provided by pollsters ) . If both of these options ('--polling-namespace', '--pollster-list')are passed, the polling agent will load only those pollsters specified in the pollster list, that can be loaded from the selected namespaces, correct? . If just '--pollster-list' is specified, then polling agent will try to load pollsters from all available/configured namespaces? Thank you in advance. Regards, Yurii
@Yurii: as discussed on the ceilometer productization call - yes to the package restructuring for rhos8 to support ultra-wide scaleout of central agent polling, but too late for rhos7.
Verifed according to test plan.
