Description damin 1999-02-15 14:09:06 UTC
I've been running RedHat 5.2 on a 386 SX-20 w/ 16 megs of
ram and an embedded Chips & Tech 82c450 video board w/ 512k
of RAM. Under the stock Xfree86 RPMS as distributed with the
5.2 CD, SuperProbe was able to identify the graphics chipset
and from that I was able to get an X configuration working.

After the update, SuperProbe cannot correctly idenfity my
Video Card and reports;

First video: Super-VGA
        Chipset: Chips & Tech (chipset unknown)
(Port                         Probed)
                Signature data: 43 (please report)
        Memory:  0 Kbytes
        RAMDAC:  Generic 8-bit pseudo-color DAC
                 (with 6-bit wide lookup tables (or in
6-bit                  mode))

We will need to get card with this chipset in to accurately test this
bug. Until then you can submit bug information to www.xfree86.org and
downgrade to the older version until they can come up with a fix.
