As discussed in the meeting, rather than hiding the GAV, the recommendation is to make sure they are all already filled in so the user can simply accept the defaults: groupId = organizational unit (sanitized if necessary) artefactId = project name (sanitized if necessary) version = 1.0

Fixed in master & 6.2.x The fix adds a new "default group id "field to the organizational unit management screen. Its value is used to pre-fill the group id field at project creation.
