pkcs11-helper has its own text format for seralizing the ID of an object from a PKCS#11 token. It should use the PKCS#11 URI format described at https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-pechanec-pkcs11uri-16 instead. At https://github.com/OpenSC/pkcs11-helper/pull/4 there are patches to fix this, while still allowing *deserialization* of the legacy format for compatibility.
The PKCS#11 URI specification is now published as RFC7512.
