Linux kernel built with the Generic IEEE 802.11 Networking Stack(CONFIG_MAC80211)(WLAN) support is vulnerable to an information leakage flaw. It occurs when fragmentation along with software encryption is enabled.

This flaw could be used to leak up to 8 kernel memory bytes.

Statement:

This issue did not affect the version of the kernel package as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise MRG 2.

This issue affects the versions of Linux kernel as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 is now in Production 3 Phase of the support and maintenance life cycle. This has been rated as having Low security impact and is not currently planned to be addressed in future updates.
