Description Louis Zuckerman 2014-12-27 05:03:13 UTC
Description of problem:
Appearance of git submodules in repository blocks automatic ubuntu package builds on launchpad. A git submodule was introduced, then later removed, in the glusterfs source repository.

Full details here: https://github.com/semiosis/glusterfs-debian/issues/5

Is it possible to change history and remove any trace of submodule use?

Thanks!

-louis

Please do. I couldn't figure out how to remove the git submodule information.

Comment 2 Louis Zuckerman 2015-01-06 16:46:46 UTC
Someone from the Kubuntu team pointed out that we could use jenkins to automate publishing to the PPAs instead of Launchpad's own automation. I think that's probably a better route than trying to rewrite the git history of the whole glusterfs project :)

Comment 3 Niels de Vos 2016-08-06 06:50:54 UTC
Kaleb, is this still an issue? Or maybe it should get re-assigned to Nigel to see if automatic Debian/Ubuntu builds can be done?

Comment 4 Kaleb KEITHLEY 2016-08-06 12:52:07 UTC
AFAIK it can't be fixed. Close as CANTFIX perhaps?
