Description of problem: Filezilla is unusable (gui glitches and mouse input problems) after upgrade to filezilla-3.9.0.6-1 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): filezilla-3.9.0.6-1 How reproducible: upgrade to filezilla-3.9.0.6-1 Steps to Reproduce: 1. launch filezilla Actual results: filezilla is unusable Expected results: filezilla works fine Additional info: filezilla-3.8.1-3 works fine
I can confirm this on my installation also using KDE. GUI seems to be stuck in a loop not updating. Maybe related to bug #1175531
Starting filezilla from command line, I get the following: $ filezilla Reading locale option from /home/pna/.filezilla/filezilla.xml setlocale da_DK.UTF-8 successful locale set to da_DK.UTF-8 (filezilla:19442): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed (filezilla:19442): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'height >= -1' failed (filezilla:19442): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed (filezilla:19442): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed (filezilla:19442): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'height >= -1' failed (filezilla:19442): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed wxD-Bus: CPowerManagementInhibitor: Requesting busy wxD-Bus: Signal from /org/freedesktop/DBus, member NameAcquired wxD-Bus: Reply with serial 2 wxD-Bus: Signal: Error: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files wxD-Bus: Reply with serial 3 wxD-Bus: CPowerManagementInhibitor: Request successful, cookie is 2 wxD-Bus: CPowerManagementInhibitor: Requesting idle wxD-Bus: Reply with serial 4 wxD-Bus: CPowerManagementInhibitor: Request successful
< wxD-Bus: Signal: Error: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files This sounds like an issue with wxGTK3 instead (trying to hardcode the dbus session manager). Can you try to reproduce with filezilla 3.9.6.0 instead (using yum downgrade filezilla) to see if the same message appears with KDE. FYI filezilla upstream switched from wxGTK2 to wxGTK3 as it's now the default between theses two versions
(In reply to Nicolas Chauvet (kwizart) from comment #3) > Can you try to reproduce with filezilla 3.9.6.0 instead (using yum downgrade > filezilla) to see if the same message appears with KDE. Do you mean downgrade to 3.8.1, because that was already on 3.9.6. With 3.8.1 (which works) I don't see those errors and filezilla is nicely usable.
I mean, that was already with 3.9.0.6 (not 3.9.6.0).
The error message wxD-Bus: Signal: Error: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files does not appear until I close filezilla. If I choose Gnome desktop, filezilla seems to work ok. Downgrade filezilla gives me version 3.8.1, and it works.
Please reproduce with 3.10.0 http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=8550975
3.10.0 still has the issue output: Reading locale option from /home/elia/.config/filezilla/filezilla.xml (filezilla:16470): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed (filezilla:16470): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed (filezilla:16470): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'height >= -1' failed (filezilla:16470): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed (filezilla:16470): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'width >= -1' failed (filezilla:16470): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'height >= -1' failed wxD-Bus: Signal from /org/freedesktop/DBus, member NameAcquired wxD-Bus: Reply with serial 2 wxD-Bus: Signal: Error: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files
Upstream report, in case helpful https://forum.filezilla-project.org/viewtopic.php?t=34780 "Try manually compiling wxWidgets from the WX_3_0_BRANCH from the wxWidgets repository, it contains some fixes related to non-X11 environments. When doing so, also try compiling wx with GTK+2 support instead, it is more reliable. You probably need to rebuild FileZilla afterwards, as well as any other programs using wx."
I can confirm this same bug in filezilla 3.9.0.6-1.fc21. The application is unusable in this state. It consumes about 90 percent of CPU and won't complete a file transfer.

I just installed Fedora 22 alpha KDE spin in a virtualbox and Filezilla seems to work there, although it still spits out the same debug messages: [peter@localhost ~]$ filezilla Reading locale option from /home/peter/.config/filezilla/filezilla.xml pci id for fd 9: 80ee:beef, driver (null) libGL error: core dri or dri2 extension not found libGL error: failed to load driver: vboxvideo (filezilla:1575): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: The property GtkImageMenuItem:use-stock is deprecated and shouldn 't be used anymore. This message is a reminder that Fedora 21 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 21. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '21'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 21 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 21 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-12-01. Fedora 21 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
