Description Christian Jung 2015-01-09 09:46:25 UTC
Created attachment 978087 [details]
screenshot of "Content" tab

Description of problem:
Running a SmartState Analysis on RHEV datastores (only tested with NFS but should show similar results for other storage types) doesn't return any details.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
cfme-5.3.1.10-1.el6cf.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. connect CF to RHEV
2. navigate to "Infrastructure, Datastores"
3. perform a SmartState Analysis for a datastore
4. check the summary page of the datastore

Actual results:
Properties and usage are shown correctly. Everything in the "Content" box is 0 (All files, Non-VM Files,...)

Expected results:
See more detailed data

Additional info:
I copied some files directly to the NFS datastore used by RHEV and no data is shown.

See attached screenshot and tree output.

Christian,

I suspect we're gonna need various logs for this. Can you attach the logs here? Or, post them somewhere accessible?

Thanks!

cc'ing Rich because there may be specific logs that may help

I'm happy to upload any log you want. ;-)

Just tell me the log level (if you want a non-default) and I'll upload them here.

And in 5.3.5.4.20150709145631_c2306e1. The Task page shows "Finished" and "SmartState Analysis for 1 storages complete".

Occurs for Export (NFS) and ISO domains.

bug #1278463 is the solution here, and it's already in 5.5.

The real situation here is that CFME doesn't currently support smart state for Rhev datastores. So, the selection should not be available. The bug I referenced is intended to remove that option.
