I can change it but it shouldn't really make a huge difference because the Installer script only updates the packages but not the database schema, while the db-control backup command backs up the database. The important thing is that the backup is performed before the spacewalk-schema-upgrade command.

I like the recommendation - always have a backup *before* initiating the upgrade process.
