Description of problem: I first observed that my server was about 20% slower with Hyperthreading turned on. It is a 2P Intel E5-2680 v3 with DDR4 memory. Checking logs showed a recurring crash in all Fedora 20 and 21 kernels to date. I cannot tell if this is an OS bug or a SuperMicro bios problem. The motherboard is a Supermicro X10DRi, BIOS 1.0b dated 09/17/2014. Dmesg reports the bios is "broken" in Fedora 21 and warns that performance will be degraded. I plan to file this bug with Fedora 20 just to document it and will follow it with a bug report using Fedora 21. Reproducing it is easy - just boot the system and ABRT reports a kernel crash and recovery. It consistently happens each time the system is booted, with or without Hyperthreading (24 or 48 cpus).
