Any plans to make a new BIT-package bit for version 1.1.x?
Cheers, Roman

Anitya finds version 1.1.12 at upstream.

Comment 7 hannes 2016-02-10 09:11:20 UTC
Could the package maintainer, please give some feedback? If you need a co-maintainer, just raise your voice. Otherwise we will initiate the non-responsive package maintainer procedure.

Comment 8 Raphael Groner 2016-02-10 09:20:57 UTC
Hi Hannes,
I would like to take this package. See my comment #5 and the linked ticket about already started nonresponsive maintainer procedure.

This is my second try with needinfo, besides other people have already requested a response in prior.

Comment 9 Fedora Admin XMLRPC Client 2016-02-19 18:13:43 UTC
This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.

Hi Hannes,

I have a buildable spec file for backintime 1.1.12 but it needs some cosmetics to comply with all guidelines.

Comment 12 hannes 2016-02-29 06:49:12 UTC
Could you upload it somewhere? I also have one, but I think we can only provide the new backintime for rawhide and for f24. For older releases it's not possible with all the change.
Additional I thought about making some links, so that the shortcuts backintime-gnome and backintime-kde might work still. But don't know if that's good, since it would hide the changes.

> Could you upload it somewhere?

I have based it on your work with small improvements. Some folder ownerships are still not fully right and not sure about the files renaming and generation done in %install, fedora-review tool should tell.

Sounds reasonable to me. Rawhide only is sufficient but if someone needs it for f24, no problem.

How so? Support of gnome is gone in this version, kde4 is obsolete. We should poke upstream about a port to qt5, cause qt4 development is dead since several months. Qt 4.8.7 is the last one of that 4 series.
http://blog.qt.io/blog/2015/05/26/qt-4-8-7-released/

Well, yeah the upgrade path is somehow critical. We obviously need to investigate further.

hannes's backintime-1.1.12-1.fc25 completed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=741245

Comment 16 Cott Lang 2016-03-14 16:55:55 UTC
The fc24 package appears to work fine in fc23.

There is a data-destroying bug in the current version (1.0.36) for fc23:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/backintime/+bug/1374343

Could this be considered for release in fc23? If not, can an update to at least 1.0.38 be done?

Thanks.

Comment 17 hannes 2016-03-14 19:50:41 UTC
Hi Cott,

unfortunately updating to the latest version is not really an option for f23. It is against the update guidelines, since the structure of the package and the available GUI options changed quite a bit.
I think the best and easiest way would be to use the copr for all releases <24.
An update to 1.0.38 is not really an option unless someone else helps out, since at least I don't have time for this, sorry.

raphgro's backintime-1.1.12-2.fc25 completed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=779932

Comment 19 Raphael Groner 2016-07-15 07:04:58 UTC
Can we close here? I'm a co-maintainer and agree with hannes about the b0rken upgrade path. Please either update to Fedora 24 or use copr.
