Description RamaKasturi 2015-01-27 13:04:36 UTC
Description of problem:
There is a tech preview warning in Console when user sets the replica count as 3 while creating replicate and distributed replicate volumes.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on create new volume.
2. In the add brick dialog increase the replica count to 3.
3. Add the bricks.
4. click ok.

Actual results:
A Tech Preview warning dialog gets displayed which says "Creating replicated volume with rep_count > 2 is under technology preview. Are you sure you want to continue?

Expected results:
Tech preview dialog should be removed when replica count is less than or equal to 3.

Comment 2 RamaKasturi 2015-02-25 10:20:24 UTC
Moving it back to assigned since i am not able to create a replica 3 volume.

Changing the replica count and adding the bricks and clicking on "OK" just hangs and i am not able to create the volume.

Comment 3 RamaKasturi 2015-02-25 10:38:59 UTC
Removing a brick from pure replicate volume and adding it again does not work.

Removing bricks from distribute replicate volume and adding it again does not work.

Comment 4 RamaKasturi 2015-02-25 11:17:54 UTC
Because of the bug fix for this bug, i am not even able to create replicate and distribute replicate volumes from console.

Cannot add bricks for pure replicate and distribute replicate volumes.

Comment 6 RamaKasturi 2015-02-27 08:25:31 UTC
Verified in build rhsc-3.0.4-1.25.el6rhs.noarch.

created volume of type replicate, distribute replicate volumes of replica type 3 on the setup 2*3 and 4*3.

performed Rebalance, remove-brick and optimize for virt store

Comment 7 RamaKasturi 2015-02-27 08:29:41 UTC
Tech preview warning is not seen for the volumes created using replica count equal to 3.

Please add doc text.

Comment 9 anmol babu 2015-03-06 06:42:43 UTC
Earlier Replicate volume with replica count = 3 was in tech preview but now since the latest glusterfs fully supports creation of replicate volume with replica count = 3, the patches attached above facilitate this by removing the previously shown UI tech-preview warning. However the above said warning continues to be present ONLY for replica count > 3
