Sachin, is this a dupe of bug 1187206 ?
Sachin, I am going to close this one as a dupe of bug 1187206. If you feel this is a unique issue, please reopen. Thanks! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1187206 ***
Hey Brad, Actually katello-installer is failing on rhel7 while enabling all services via chkconfig. See this bz's description for errors. And StephenB suggested a workaround of this issue is to downgrade puppet from 3.7.4 to 3.7.3. See here the reply from mailing list: > [1] katello-installer failed on rhel7 with error: Could not enable > postgresql: Execution of '/sbin/chkconfig --add postgresql' returned 1 > https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1187014 Thanks, it appears katello-installer is broken in puppet 3.7.4. We have a custom service provider that inherits from Puppet's :redhat provider, which this commit broke by adding 'chkconfig -add': https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppet/commit/fdfbcc06101d8b7bb9112321952ecbb01ee773b6 For now, if you need to get a working install, downgrade puppet to 3.7.3. Also, this issue still appears in recent nightly. So I'm opening this issue.
Also, rhel7 should use systemd to enable the services instead of using chkconfig. The error logs clearly shows how chkconfig being used to enable services. So I filed this bz "https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1187206" to use systemd instead of chkconfig for all services being enabled by katello-installer.
Moving to POST since upstream bug http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/9163 has been closed ------------- Stephen Benjamin The service-wait provider inherits from Puppet's :redhat provider, which this commit broke by adding 'chkconfig -add': https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppet/commit/fdfbcc06101d8b7bb9112321952ecbb01ee773b6 For now, if you need to get a working install, downgrade puppet to 3.7.3. ------------- dustin tsang tested seems to be fixed by #8478. installer: output https://gist.github.com/3dc986eb9ce41dc32dc8 (for katello-installer @ 0c126a368f2e37755aa0d2fada2c54f51ea33f09)
Verified with: Satellite-6.1.0-RHEL-6-20150210.0 Sat6.1.0 beta snap2 I didn't get this issue while installing Sat6.1.0 beta snap2 compose. Moving this to verified. And puppet version here we are using 3.6.2. puppet-server-3.6.2-1.el6sat.noarch If I get this again, will file another bz.
This bug is slated to be released with Satellite 6.1.
