Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
libguestfs uses the binary of rhsrvany.exe from mingw32-srvany Fedora package, which suffers from the problem described in bug 1187226.
Once it's fixed, RHEL libguestfs needs to pull in that fixed version.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
libguestfs-1.28.1-1.13.el7

*** Bug 1198608 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Hi,how can I test the bug?
I tested to run rhsrvany.exe in windows guests which is converted by virt-v2v,but it doesn't crash with old version of virt-v2v.

I've never seen this crash. So the best thing IMO is to verify that
the updated binary is present.
If you go to:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=13522
and grab the highest version numbered package (which is actually
mingw-srvany-1.0-15.20150115gitfd659e77.fc23), then unpack it,
you will find a binary inside called:
usr/i686-w64-mingw32/sys-root/mingw/bin/rhsrvany.exe
which is the same as the one that is included in RHEL. For me
it has MD5 460f8985213cc6ec45e7635aca81cd68 and size 20228 bytes.
Tested with:
libguestfs-1.28.1-1.29.el7.x86_64
virt-v2v-1.28.1-1.29.el7.x86_64
1.Use virt-v2v to convert a windows guests.
2.After conversion,boot the guest.
3.Check the md5 and size of rhsrvany.exe in guest.
md5:460f8985213cc6ec45e7635aca81cd68
size:20228 bytes
Refer to the above comments, the rhsrvany.exe has been updated,so move the bug to VERIFIED.
