Description wanghui 2015-02-10 08:14:12 UTC
Title: 7.4.4. Installing the Hypervisor

Describe the issue:
It missed the description of how to open the boot menu in rhevh7.0 in "7.4.4 Installing the Hypervisor". Because there is difference between rhevh6.6 and rhevh7.0, so I suggested that we should discription the way to open the boot menu separately.

Suggestions for improvement:
Update the 7.4.4. Installing the Hypervisor as below.

2.1 For rhevh6.6, you can press any key to open the boot menu from the boot splash screen.

2.2 For rhevh7.0, you can just press enter to "Start Rhevh Hypervisor7" or press enter in "Troubleshooting" option to open the boot menu.
And add the figure for rhevh7.0 start menu and boot menu

Hi Hui,

We have an article included in the formal documentation that outlines this procedure for RHEV-H 7 -

https://access.redhat.com/articles/1168703

The content in the Installation Guide refers to RHEV-H 6.X. Does the information in the above article help answer your concerns?

Kind regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I think the since the title[1] is for rhev3.5, it should not only include the the installation guide for RHEV-H 6.x. I still suggest we should include the installation guide for RHEV-H 7.0, maybe we can add the just the hyperlink against to that article you mentioned.

Hi Hui,

Thank you for getting back to me.

Understood!

Tahlia - could you add a link to the Installation Guide pointing to the RHEV-H 7 article?
We'll review the positioning of the RHEV-H 6.6 and RHEV-H 7 content as we enter planning.

Kind regards,

Andrew
