Description argento3k 2015-02-11 13:29:37 UTC
Description of problem:

the pkcon command gives this result

Non è stato possibile contattare PackageKit: Errore nel chiamare StartServiceByName per org.freedesktop.PackageKit: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.TimedOut: Activation of org.freedesktop.PackageKit timed out

if I write "systemctl status packagekit.service -l" to know the status of the packagekit service I get this output:

$ systemctl status packagekit.service -l
● packagekit.service - PackageKit Daemon
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/packagekit.service; static)
   Active: inactive (dead)

feb 11 12:56:05 localhost.localdomain PackageKit[1274]: daemon start
feb 11 12:56:05 localhost.localdomain PackageKit[1274]: daemon quit
feb 11 12:56:05 localhost.localdomain packagekitd[1274]: Failed to load the backend: Failed to execute statement 'CREATE TABLE last_action (role TEXT PRIMARY KEY, timespec TEXT);': table last_action already exists

If I type "systemctl start packagekit" everything seems to work (no error output) but if I type systemctl status packagekit -l again I get the same output as before (inactive: dead) with a different timestamp

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.0.4-1.fc21

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. systemctl start packagekit
2. systemctl status packagekit.service -l

Actual results:
packagekit service is dead

Expected results:
packagekit service should be active

This solution https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1188455#c3 worked for me too
