RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2015:2097 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE abrt bug fix and enhancement update 2015-11-19 11:34:14 UTC

Description Lukáš Zachar 2015-02-11 14:21:34 UTC
Description of problem:

Binary 'abrt-auto-reporting' belongs to package 'abrt'. If one install only abrt and its dependencies, the execution of this binary fails on missing /etc/libreport/plugins/rhtsupport.conf without any user friendly error message or enabled/disabled state report.

If that configuration file is required for the reporting it should be in requires. Otherwise it should not affect the output.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
abrt-2.1.11-19.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install abrt
2. abrt-auto-reporting; echo $?
3.

Actual results:
Can't open '/etc/libreport/plugins/rhtsupport.conf': No such file or directory
1

Expected results:
disabled or enabled or friendly error message
1

Comment 4 Martin Kyral 2015-07-27 05:51:43 UTC
coverage added to the abrt-auto-reporting-sanity upstream test:
https://github.com/abrt/abrt/commit/f9f6541ad0b73aa5354c990387b314a619c5bc95

Comment 5 Matej Habrnal 2015-07-28 11:09:03 UTC
We discovered that conditional compilation in abrt-auto-reporting does not work. We forgot add -DAUTHENTICATED_AUTOREPORTING=1 flag if AUTHENTICATED_AUTOREPORTING is enabled.

Comment 6 Matej Habrnal 2015-07-28 11:50:33 UTC
This commit https://github.com/abrt/abrt/commit/5da022d3f1e6e54067dc265a6f6a37b9214daa6d fixes the issue mentioned in Comment #5.

Comment 7 Matej Habrnal 2015-07-30 11:10:44 UTC
There was discovered another issue related to conditional compilation of man pages.

This upstream commit fixes the issue:
https://github.com/abrt/abrt/commit/930d035e7a56ecb18414b56d1fa906f2948b2d9e
