Description Rex Dieter 2015-03-01 17:13:52 UTC
Would like to build marble with Qt5 support, and would be nice to be able to enable qextserialport support.

That means we'll probably want a parallel-installable qextserialport-qt5 build, where there are no conflicts. From looking at qextserialport buildsys, it would appear it uses the same soname for qt4/qt5 builds, so we'll need to work with upstream to fix that.

I'll work on a proof-of-concept patch soon.

I'm not sure whether upstream is interested to continue working on this. The project was taken over a couple of years ago, but development has ceased since.

Comment 2 Rex Dieter 2015-12-23 18:47:45 UTC
looks like the latest 1.2rc at github does have initial qt5 support, fwiw.

I'll leave it up to you though (and keep serial support in marble disabled for now, at least until someone asks for it).

Comment 3 Volker Fröhlich 2019-11-15 21:56:39 UTC
Is this ticket still relevant?

Comment 4 Rex Dieter 2019-11-16 00:51:42 UTC
No one's asked for the marble feature, so we can consider this not worth doing. Can close this for now

Comment 5 Fedora Admin user for bugzilla script actions 2022-10-26 01:52:06 UTC
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

Comment 6 Miro Hrončok 2022-12-12 21:48:56 UTC
Automation has figured out the package is retired in rawhide.

If you like it to be unretired, please open a ticket at https://pagure.io/releng/new_issue?template=package_unretirement
