Description Michael Burman 2015-03-02 11:53:38 UTC
Description of problem:
[RFE] SR-IOV > Add list of available VFs in webadmin(GUI)
As today there is no list of available VFs.
It will be nice to have such list, so Admin can know how much available VFs left for a specific PF.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ovirt-engine-3.6.0-0.0.master.20150301182359.git6a3ee75.el6.noarch

Comment 1 Red Hat Bugzilla Rules Engine 2015-10-19 10:55:08 UTC
Target release should be placed once a package build is known to fix a issue. Since this bug is not modified, the target version has been reset. Please use target milestone to plan a fix for a oVirt release.

Comment 2 Yaniv Lavi 2015-10-29 12:12:36 UTC
In oVirt testing is done on single release by default. Therefore I'm removing the 4.0 flag. If you think this bug must be tested in 4.0 as well, please re-add the flag. Please note we might not have testing resources to handle the 4.0 clone.

Comment 3 Alona Kaplan 2015-11-18 08:44:10 UTC
Isn't the fix of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1202118 enough? (In the setup networks dialog, each VF has a 'VF' icon and the PF name is displayed in the tooltip).

If not, please explain what exactly do you mean by- "Add list of available VFs in webadmin(GUI)". Where this list should be displayed?

Comment 4 Michael Burman 2015-11-18 12:40:38 UTC
Ok, maybe it's enough, but, we need to add a tooltip on the PF that will provide the next info:
- Number of enabled VFs
- How much and which VFs are free/in use

Alona, please ack this ^^

* Our desired design for this will be to display the VF/s nics under it's PF/s in the Setup Networks dialog and not like it is today -->
All the PFs/regular Nics displayed and under them all the VF/s nics, but from Alona i understood it's hard to implement.

Comment 5 Alona Kaplan 2015-11-18 13:51:06 UTC
It is not hard to implement. It is just not fully defined-
What if some PFs are part of a bond?
What if some VFs are part of a bond?

How will you organize the nics in those scenarios?

Comment 6 Michael Burman 2015-11-18 14:52:42 UTC
Good question, i'm not sure(will think about it )).

But, at this point tooltip on the PF that will provide the next info:
- Number of enabled VFs
- How much and which VFs are free/in use
is good enough.

Comment 7 Dan Kenigsberg 2015-12-03 08:39:01 UTC
Currently, the requested information is a bit hidden, but is accessible.

To find the number of existing (used+free) VFs you can click on the Edit PF dialog.

Each VF in the SetupNetwork dialog has a tooltip marking its PF (free VF->PF). This gives the inverse of the requested information (PF->all its free VFs). Cubersome, but possible.

Comment 8 Yaniv Lavi 2018-06-06 07:37:15 UTC
Closing old RFEs, please reopen if still needed.
Patches are always welcomed.

Comment 9 Dan Kenigsberg 2018-06-06 07:38:20 UTC
Nice to have - if easy to implement.

Comment 10 Red Hat Bugzilla Rules Engine 2018-06-06 07:38:27 UTC
This request has been proposed for two releases. This is invalid flag usage. The ovirt-future release flag has been cleared. If you wish to change the release flag, you must clear one release flag and then set the other release flag to ?.
