Zanata currently supports GUI uploads for some of its overall supported file formats. When uploading one of the non-supported formats, the server shows an error which leads to confusion. Files can still (and should) be uploaded using a client. Specifically for translation files, there are some formats that should not be supported for various reasons (i.e. odt), but for source files, they should all be supported.
Hi Carlos, Thanks for creating this bug. Can you please specify all the file formats that plan to support in this RFE?
Source files: ALL (pot, xliff, properties, etc). All the Okapi formats are already supported so I won't list them all. Translation: po, pot, txt, htm, html, dtd. Notice no ODF file types. Also, properties and xliff need to be evaluated whether it makes sense to push via GUI, there are some technical issues with this.
This bug also relates to the handling of large files. We should use the same asynchronous mechanism the command line clients use.
