Is this in a live media? Or a installed env? Can you provide 'dmesg' output?
Installed environment. Neither SATA SSD connected through USB / SATA adapter is displayed in the file managers. yum -y update # now ===dmesg=== ... ... That all looks pretty normal. ;( Can you remove the usb, make sure Thunar is not running, then start Thunar in a terminal and insert the usb and see if it outputs anything to that terminal? Also, while the usb is installed can you give the output of 'blkid' as root?

After latest update - see yum1 attachment - and with kernel 4.0.0-0.rc5.git1.3.fc22.x86_64 I am able to see SATA SSD connected through SATA/USB interface in thunar. And I am able to insert USB Flash stick and mount it through Thunar. It works as expected now for me.
Created attachment 1009839 [details] latest yum updates
I guess we can chalk this up to some weird kernel issue... glad it's working now. ;)
